Pride parade protests

As a reaction to the conservative Fidesz governments’ ban on the pride parade in 2025, young and old protesters gathered every tuesday on the Elizabeth bridge in Budapest. These are photos from one of those protests in April 2025.

While the main point of protest was the ban of the parade, many other messages of dissatisfaction and concern were shown. People, in particular young ones are increasingly concerned about the authoritarian attitudes of their prime minister and his turn away from democratioc values and toward other dictators.
